Oral Vore describes posts showing a character consuming or having consumed another orally, and/or a character being, or having been eaten alive. Oral vore is overwhelmingly the most commonly depicted type of vore.

Tagging Notes:

Many vore posts don't explicitly depict how the character ended up in the other's stomach, but without any evidence to the contrary, it can logically be assumed to involve oral ingestion. However, this tag is best applied when there's visual evidence that the character has eaten, or has been eaten by, another orally - a character burping, wiping their mouth, drooling, licking their lips, and having a bloated belly, referencing their prey's taste, or the prey mentioning that they've been swallowed in dialogue can all imply that the character was swallowed, rather than having travelled into the stomach by another orifice.

Oral Vore, "Soft" and "Hard" Vore
  • Soft Vore describes a character being consumed alive and whole through any orifice.
  • Hard Vore describes a character being eaten in pieces, or in rare cases, being chewed, bitten or suffering grievous bodily harm before being swallowed. All, or nearly all hard vore involves the character's flesh or entire body being ingested orally, however, hard vore posts are rarely tagged as oral vore.

Oral vore is almost exclusively used, on site and off, to refer to vore where a character is ingested whole and alive through another character's mouth, and arriving in the stomach in one piece - "soft oral vore". Oral vore may be tagged on hard vore in rare cases where either multiple characters are consumed, some torn apart, or "chewed whole", and others swallowed whole, or cases where a character is chewed, or has limbs or flesh bitten off, but survives their injuries long enough to be swallowed alive.

Oral Vore Tags

Note: Not all of the following tags are exclusively vore related, but are often used for vore content

  • The prey's fate...
    • fatal vore - the most common "explicit" ending, the prey is digested, and their mass absorbed by the pred's body for sustenance
      • see after vore for the various ways a digested prey can effect the pred's body, and how they may be disposed of
    • full tour - the prey survives the entire digestive tract, and is expelled from the pred's anus, may involve feces
    • regurgitation - the prey is forced back up the esophagus and out of the pred's mouth, may involve vomit
Oral Vore "Time Line"

Oral vore typically has the "prey" character swallowed, travelling down the predator character's throat, and arriving in their stomach, where they are often digested by stomach acid, processed by the digestive tract as usual; alternatively, the prey may be absorbed in some exotic way, or safely regurgitated or excreted, surviving their ingestion. These tags describe different elements of an oral vore scenario, roughly following the process of the prey being eaten

"Pre-Vore"

Note: A post that doesn't actually show anything beyond a character being threatened or teased with being eaten should not be tagged as oral_vore, unless post is a comic or animation which shows the character being actively eaten

Inside the mouth
  • "View" Tags - these describe what is shown, rather than where the prey is
    • inside mouth - a shot with or without any prey character depicted, showing the inside of a character's mouth, not to be confused with in mouth
    • inside throat - a shot with or without any prey character depicted, showing the inside of a character's throat/esophagus, not to be confused with in throat
  • In Mouth - the prey is fully inside of the pred's mouth
    • body in mouth - most of the prey's body is in the pred's mouth, they may be partially outside of the pred's mouth, or partially within the pred's throat
    • head in mouth - only the prey's head is in the pred's mouth, while the rest is either outside of the pred's mouth, or in the pred's throat
    • hand in mouth - only the prey's hand is in the pred's mouth, if the rest of the character is outside, this is imminent oral vore, rather than oral vore (unless followed up by further scenes), can also involve the hands being visible outside of the throat
Being swallowed
  • Swallowing
    • in throat - the prey is partially, or entirely in the pred's throat
    • head first - the prey is swallowed with their head facing down the character's throat
    • feet first - the prey goes down the throat "like a slide", their feet reaching the stomach first
    • neck bulge - the pred's throat deforms as the prey is pushed down their esophagus
Inside the body
  • digestion
    • melting - the prey melts into a puddle or goo, rather than digesting realistically
