MemberSorry, well first thing first… NEW PAGE!!
Okay, so, what is "pos"? P.O.S. has always meant "Piece Of Shit" to me. That doesn't fit here though. 🤔

MemberHe's trying to make small talk using that Point of Sales, which shows you the price and savings before you buy. It's just he's an extreme introvert who struggles to make even the slightest person-to-person contact.

MemberI think I’ll just check back in a year or two, maybe the main characters of the story will actually hold hands or speak to each other again.
It was 56 pages ago that they last interacted directly.

MemberI legit found this comic earlier today and binged it so I thought no way is that accurate. It is. Really enjoyed it so far, I think the characters are cute but wow that was like a year ago in terms of submissions.
Erodoeht
MemberYep. I know I sound like a jerk but I really did enjoy this comic but it really has slumped in my opinion
Erodoeht
MemberCool, glad people can’t have opinions.
Look I liked this comic enough to pay for it early on but the story has stalled. I could just ignore it but I would like to see it shine
Erodoeht
MemberWhelp your comfort isn’t really an issue for me.

MemberTbh, I got a thumbs down for saying the bunny girl was acting silly and calling the grumpy fox fake Nick none of those secondary characters wanted to work when it was more than obviously a sarcastic comment.
People do not know that everyone has tastes and a point of view of seeing things in different ways.

MemberIt's a fair take to have. Not everyone can do the slow burn;
Plus, comics used to come out all at once back in the day, so being spoonfed a page every few weeks can feel frustrating.
I watch a bunch of comics that do this, so I make up for it by having a large pot to stew over, but my take is an exception and not the rule.

MemberIt's inevitable. People have opinions.
Then again, you can just, you know, don't read those opinions.
I am just glad we are back to the main plot very fast. No one care about the subplot and I would hate to wait months just to go back to the main plot again.

Memberpoint of sale is what they are referring to.

MemberOr people could remember this is a community and not be rude about their opinions. I like reading the comments; other people notice things I miss, vice versa, and there are interesting discussions... until the comic switches to the B-plot and the, "Hurry up and fuck!" crowd takes over. Then I have to skim through it for people that aren't redundantly lamenting that a longform webcomic has the pace of a longform webcomic.
So logically I can counter your point the same way you have mine: you can just, you know, not say it every time. I should think it takes less effort to not type a comment than it does to not read a comment.
Erodoeht
MemberYeah you are still wrong with your logic because this is all subjective. It’s your opinion vs mine or someone else’s.
I don’t have to wear kid gloves and protect your feelings just because I am annoyed a comic I really liked has in my opinion fallen way short when I think the artist could do way better because they have before.
Sorry but you are crying about something that is only an issue for you

MemberWell, I guess we can just post/comment and read posts/comments whatever, whenever and however we want.
Gotta love Democracy.

MemberThe haters and instant gratificationers using downvotes to silence those who show reason and consideration.
It's not going to shine if the near constant parade of those sharing your opinions every page makes it seem all anyone cares about is seeing the Twins fuck and Willitfit becomes too defeated to continue at all. I've seen plenty of comics die early from far less.

MemberI might be acting a bit rude at this point, I admit. But really, I just want a community where, "Don't be an asshole," is the baseline. And it feels like that is apparently too much to ask sometimes.

MemberWill's a grown adult charging money for a product. I think he can handle a comment section that isn't a 100% hugbox echo chamber of toxic positivity.
And if he wakes up tomorrow and decides Trio Tango will be a more artistically and/or commercially fulfilling use of his time, he's free to make that decision, with the understanding that there are costs and benefits to any action.
SomeRandomGuy2003
MemberI guess being overly positive to unhealthy extents is a novel concept.
It's why constructive criticism exists - sometimes not pointing out the negatives and only agreeing with someone or something does more bad than good.
dragonorb13
MemberActually... If you check the link over the bubble, it's a reference to when he has a social anxiety induced panic attack because the point of sale system was down and he couldn't find his cash before the rest of the customers started complaining. His problem isn't simply introversion. "Extreme introvert" is misleading, as that just means he doesn't have an inherent requirement for social contact. As an introvert, myself, it's not that introverts have an inherent issue with social interaction. The issue is that he has severe social anxiety.
You know that guy that shows up at parties, and reads a book in the corner while drinking, but carries on conversations just fine when someone talks to him? Introvert.
You know that guy that shows up at the same party, floats around with everyone else, but just blushes and shies away when someone talks to him? Someone actively trying to interact, but suffering social anxiety.
dragonorb13
MemberNo, not a contradiction. It's the polar opposite of "necessary evil". Both are difficult concepts, but there are things that are normally considered bad that simply have to be done, like killing one person to protect another.
Inversely, there are things that are normally considered good that actually cause damage to the 'target'. A prime example is when you try to help "improve" someone's emotion state too early in the grieving process. They know things are going to be okay. They know the world isn't going to end just because someone or something they care about is gone. That doesn't matter. It hurts. And trying to tell them that too early in the process can, and frequently will, cause them to spiral further, because now on top of grieving, your well intended words are making them feel like they're wrong for grieving over a pet that they've had for years, or that they're grieving too long over the loss of a loved one, or any number of other things.
Emotions aren't logical. Contradictions in emotions are rarely as simple as "that's not how that works", because it almost always is how it works. For that person.

MemberThis is true. You can't improve if you don't know what needs to be improved on. There's a balance that needs to be maintained so that an artist (or really anyone) can get better at their art while still feeling like they've accomplished something.
I also wouldn't say that this place is exactly a "hugbox echochamber of toxic positivity" normally, though. It's usually neutral-positive, in my estimation, except with regards to comments about the story's pace.
LurkyMcLurkerson
MemberNo. Toxic positivity, (or as we used to call it in ye olden days, bullshitting people) at least in this context, is telling a creative (i.e., Will) that all of their output is absolutely perfect, brilliant, beyond reproach, 11/10, no notes.
Spoilers, nobody is perfect. Everyone has off days, bad ideas, work that isn't up to snuff. You cannot improve without honest criticism. And yes, it can hurt sometimes to be told that something you worked hard on and were proud of was mid.
But we're not Will's mom. Putting every scribble up on the fridge and acting like it's a Rembrandt is dishonest, and most people can tell when they're being lied to. Gassing up everything comes off as insincere, devalues genuine praise, and eventually sows doubt that any of their work is any good.
I don't hate the comic. If I did I wouldn't have a mid-tier sub to Will's Subscribestar. But after (checks calendar) four years now, I can understand why some people want to post this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXE8LdXzeHM) every time the story veers away from the twins.
A drawn-out Takahashi will they/won't they romance can work. And she never had to get two siblings to open up to boning one another. But even Takahashi at her most drawn-out was still producing ~20 pages of content a month. Not four. IDK if Will can speed up production any, but I do know you can only tease and deny your audience for so long without shedding a worryingly large chunk of it. And that's a valid concern for a commercial endeavor like this.
Will is, of course, free to do exactly as he likes with his comic, up to and including pulling the plug, or turning it into nothing but a stream of YCH boning Felix and/or Ryder and/or Oscar auctions. But if he wants to keep telling a story, and getting paid for it, just listening to the "Ignore the haters you beautiful golden god" crowd is not a formula for success anymore than only listening to the "When do I get to see Felix fucking his sister" comments is.
