Description
Over a century ago there was a tale of a rare dragon that had been cursed. Cursed in what way could be left up to interpretation of the tale long since told. Few remember the details and fewer have probably ever even read the tale itself, having been told a short form of it by word of mouth. As with many things, details and purpose can lose meaning or just simply be lost entirely with enough time. Amethyst is part of that tale. One where only she knows the things that had transpired. Of course, that is if she's even real.
Dragons haven't been much of a bother or hardly around at all in Lilian's current time. This particular species of dragon is something Lilian, along with others, know about to a certain degree. Mountain dragons are the usual term due to the hard scales, sheer size, and the precious ore flowing through their veins. As such, years of hunting the species has dwindled their kind to practically nonexistent. Some may still remain, though it's hard to really know.
The longer that time has stretched out, the more it appears Y Ddraig Fioled is much more myth than legend. Still, it hasn't stopped Lilian from keeping one of the only copies of books with that tale in it from her younger years. Her mother read her the story plenty of times and it always made her eager to meet such a dragon. Such a rarity would be a once in a lifetime opportunity! How does liquid gold flow through her veins? How did she come to be? Why is she so different than other dragons of her kind? So many questions!
Perhaps one day fate may just see if such a meeting could be possible. Through what means could be unclear. Maybe, just maybe, Lilian could somehow pierce that scaled armor without sword or magic. Perhaps, if one were hopeful enough, they may even become...friends.
