I believe he has the feeling of who she might be. Or they all know and his friends are indeed lowlifes. I think he is going to betray them in some fashion. By either not attacking, running out and warning her, or by attacking them in her defense.

She won't die, at the very least she might get knocked out. Tristan may choose to stay with her afterwards when the others bugger off. (They'll relise there's nothing of value to take)

That might be Tristan's gateway to becoming a Guardian through his actions of looking after her.

Turning them into trees seems a tad too harsh for her. But they could definitely use a right beating over the seat of their pants.

OK. Maybe a run of bad luck for them would do nicely.( By the way, fifth panel. I think she knows what's about to happen. She is a goddess after all). Either way, I think she is definitely going to clown or punk these guys.

She'd probably use her godly abilities to incapacitate them and look at him and say that she sees some good in him and offers a better life
