So go with what you feel like, if it seems that user knows what they are doing and are trying their best, you can notify them.

Actually in most cases they don't respond or do not understand, then even after you upload superior version and they call you out to artist or on forums that you are just e6 user who only cares about their own upload counter while stealing others uploads, etc.
