Topic: What is the difference between sex slavery and forced prostitution?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

From skimming forced_prostitution, many of the posts look like they could also be describing a sex_slave, though there are very few posts where both are tagged. forced_prostitution has no wiki description to explain the difference.

the exchange of commerce.

There are some cases where it's unclear who's receiving the benefit of commerce, though. post #5054158 depicts a situation where a character is labelled as a slave yet has a price tag attached, and post #4864665 depicts a character forced into public use to pay off a debt.

It would be nice to get a wiki description to lay out the difference explicitly, in any case.

sex_slave is a tiny bit of a misnomer. It's not a slave in the sense of indentured servitude, but instead as a captive kept around for fucking.

Hm, alright. How's this for a description?

Images depicting situations where a character is forced to perform prostitution against their will. This is distinct from a sex slave in that there is an exchange of commerce present, though there can be overlap if an owner rents out a sex slave for money. There may be similarities if someone is forced into prostitution to pay off a debt, but generally speaking, indentured servitude is considered distinct from slavery.
