Species: poodle

Poodles are a group of formal domestic_dog breeds, the Standard Poodle, Miniature Poodle and Toy Poodle (the three are listed in decreasing order of size). The origin of the breed is still discussed, with a prominent dispute over whether the poodle descends from Germany as a type of water dog, or from the French Barbet.

Poodles are the national dog of France, and are ranked as the second most intelligent breed behind only the border collie. They are well known for their curly fur. Although they were once primarily hunting dogs, they are popular as show dogs nowadays.
