On Gresini Racing’s official website, Darryn mentioned before the Grand Prix that his recovery was going well, following his physiotherapy, the manageable swelling, and regaining movement.
“I went back to training; everything is back to normal. I’m feeling 100% confident about returning to Qatar. I’m excited to race there; it’s a fantastic track, and the most thrilling part is riding at night – one of the coolest races on the calendar. I’m looking forward to it!” he said. Unfortunately, Darryn did not finish the race over the weekend of April 11 to 13 due to a technical issue.
“These things happen, and there’s nothing we can do but take the positives. I managed to get through this weekend even after the injury, and we did an all-right job,” he said.
I’m taking all the positives into the next one and will try again; I’ll be fitter and healthier, so I’m looking forward to it,” he concluded.
Darryn is currently 16th in the World Championship standings and will race again in Spain at the Gran Premio Estrella Galicia 0,0 de España over the weekend of April 25 to 27.
