As I've often said, Trump 'said' he was going to drain the swamp, just so he could make it a cesspool.

Well, since Mueller has a lot yet to be revealed on corruption in the Trump sphere of influence, and has connected that to Russia, and is now connecting that up to the Middle East including Israel, UAE and Saudi Arabia, I'd say that Mueller is draining Trump's cesspool.

Tony Schwartz, the ghost writer of Trump's 1987 bestselling book, "The Art of the Deal," said the reckoning Trump faces follows decades of operating under a belief that he was above the law.

"He got away with so much, for so long, that he came to believe he was untouchable and invincible," Schwartz said.

The SDNY has revealed Trump committed felony campaign violations. And there are likely far more charges including fraud. They are also investigating Trump's inaugural committee. And its not just the record $107 million that still hasn't been accounted for. It is illegal contributions from foreign governments and citizens, especially Saudi Arabia.

The House of Representatives is also opening their own investigations. And they will also be referring people to Mueller for possible prosecution.

And then to top it off the AG of New York is also opening investigations into the Trump organization and the significance of that is if charges are brought in New York against Trump and his family Trump cannot pardon them.

With all the while Mueller is closing in on Trump and his campaign conspiring with Putin/Russia to steal the election. And all we have to do is listen to what Cohen is saying to know Mueller has the evidence.

Here ya go @Hush. This is something that has just been fascinating me. Muller runs such a leak proof ship and secrecy the press can't find out anything. And so they are actually staking out the courthouse every day literally just sitting there all day to see who goes in and who goes out. And constantly checking for new filings even though they are under seal and all they really know is something new has been filed. And of course that leads to a lot of speculation which can be wrong. But the majority of speculation now is that Mueller has subpoenaed Trump to testify before the Grand Jury and his legal team is fighting it.

Here's another thing. Immediately after Robert Mueller was appointed Special Counsel people who knew and worked with him were saying what they knew about him. Things like impeccable integrity and by the book honesty. Absolute dedication to the rule of law, the constitution, and service to the country. And two other things. Inedible intelligence and experience, especially bringing down crime families.

And all along they said Mueller would anticipate that Trump would try to end his investigation and he would protect his investigation from that. And how would Mueller do that? By spreading his investigation out to different jurisdictions and even states to insure that if Trump fired Mueller this minute his investigation would continue. Which is exactly what we are seeing now. Multiple investigations in multiple jurisdictions.

But since everyone seems to have a theory of what Mueller is doing I also have my own. Mueller is using all the guilty pleas cooperation, and court filings around things not directly related to the Russia investigation to soften Congress and even the American people up for when he actually does release his report on Russian collusion and obstruction of justice. Trump and his legal team have had one plan. Try to discredit Mueller and his investigation to try and create doubt about his findings.

And what Mueller is doing is exposing so many crimes and so many lies that by the time he drops the hammer on Trump and his campaign and the Russians Trump will already be convicted in the court of public opinion and the American people will not only know he is lying even his Republican protesters in Congress will be forced to act against Trump to save themselves.

 

“The court of public opinion” is the only hope the Democrats have in winning back the White House. But, the mere fact that virtually everything on Trump is being held in secret, save little hints leaked, the strength of Muellers case must be questionable.

 

Again we must suspend disbelief. Because Trump.

 

And Trump can't find a Chief of Staff... even Chris Christie turned it down. The ultimate Trump toady turns him down.
