Lancetfish (Alepisaurus ferox)
A species of deep sea fish with daggerlike teeth. Occasionally turns up stranded in shallow water much like the oarfish.
Geographic range:
Pacific, Atlantic, Indian ocean. Encountered at ocean depth level down to bathypelagic (aka midnight) zone.
