Let The Games Begin...

(WARNING: This story contains mature themes for mature audiences only. Do NOT read the following if you're uncomfortable with blood, gore and violence)

Sixty seconds...that's how long they had to wait for the games to begin. They were left there on pedestals, waiting for the timer to finish counting as they all looked at each other with worried faces. Some of the tributes were in position, ready to jump off and make their move towards the cornucopia about fifty meters in front of them all. Matthew looked at Luke and nodded at him, showing that he wished him good luck. Their hearts pounded harder and harder as the timer got closer to zero while their adrenaline started to fire up, ready for action while they watched the numbers above the horned structure lower. "Five...Four...Three...Two...One..."

The cannon fired and the tributes darted off their pedestals, some of them running away while the others, including Luke and Matthew, sprinted straight towards the cornucopia. The silver wolf ran inside the mouth of the giant horn and started looking through the piles of weapons and supplies, finding a silver axe and a brown rucksack. He picked them up quickly without hesitation, putting the rucksack on his back as he turned around and saw a tribute coming right towards him with a machete. The wolf dodged the boy's swing and swung for his chest with his axe, knocking him onto the floor before fleeing out of the cornucopia.

Matthew watched them fighting, seeing piles of the tributes' bodies on the ground and blood splattered across piles of crates and on the grass near them and heard screams and cries of boys of girls. He then saw Luke holding a long, silver trident, defending himself against a career tribute that was attacking him with a sword.

The wolf ran towards the career, burying the blade of the axe into his head with one hard swing after he knocked the husky to the ground. The tribute collapsed onto the ground with blood pouring out of the large wound in the side of his head. The green-haired dog stared at the lifeless body that was once alive a few seconds ago with a shocked face. He had never seen anything like that before and it had scarred his mind. He looked up at his ally with his arms extended out for him, reaching out to grab his paw and get himself back on his feet. Luke picked his trident back up and the two canines made their way into the forest, away from the bloodbath while the cannons started to fire and signify the death of each tribute.

They ran from the cornucopia and passed the tall trees, panting heavily and not looking back at the massacre. After what felt like an hour, they finally stopped running and hid inside a small cave underneath a large rock. The wolf and husky sat down and checked their rucksacks, bringing out multiple supplies to help them survive as they started to plan their next move so they'd be prepared for anything...But they couldn't help but think in their minds, 'There's only one winner...' One of them had to go at some point. But the question was 'who?'

They couldn't just simply fight it out. It wasn't that easy...they were in love, after all...

I really like this picture! Luke and I are nerds for The Hunger Games movies and we thought it'd be cool to have a commission based on them. I love how this turned out and I wouldn't change it at all. The artist did an amazing job!
