Well, she was prone to nervous breakdowns and hysterial over-reactions in early seasons. And her transformation scene in S03E13 was rather trippy, so TBH I have no problem with this explanation.

MemberThis makes me sad on a personal level. Struggling with my own mental health in depression, I feel like the whole world is my asylum keeper and while they try to keep me safe and healthy, they also just shatter my dreams and fantasies that I thought were real.
I fear that i end up myself in a psychic ward one day and I am scared to be useless. But what else to do when so many people hate you and want to harm you just for what you are.
I just wish the hurting would stop
